I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1985 at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia. Since then I have held three solo exhibitions and participated in many group shows, raised a family, travelled and worked as an Art educator, as well as currently teaching in the private sector.

My present paintings explore colour in the Australian landscape, yearning for or preserving a arcadian time through the romantic vignette.

My recent body of work for my 2017 solo show at G3 Space, Kingston Arts Centre, 'Transience' was largely experimental, exploring impressions through photo media. During rare moments alone in the landscape these are captured with slow shutter techniques and the images are later edited. This an intuitive and experimental process evocative of my printmaking and painting background. The movement or blur of shadows, trees or water is invitation to awaken, be present to the return of the tide or air currents in the trees and seek a response to something other than a static classical landscape. While exploring these methods I consider the technologies that go into creating smartphones and cameras. I think about 'fast technologies turnover' which could impact on the environment as fast food impacts our bodies. I am aware of my own part in this and the seduction somehow owning, and storing every experience. My work seeks to represent a mindful expression of that in nature that is extraordinary.
